How It Works

Agree on placement
Knob and pull position is a taste call with rules of thumb behind it. We mount one door and one drawer as samples, you approve, and that placement becomes the template setting for the rest.
Template, drill, fasten
Every hole goes through the jig with a backing block behind the face, so bits exit clean instead of blowing out the finish. Screws get sized to door thickness — the bagged ones are usually wrong for some doors.
Adjust and cycle-test
Hinges tuned so reveals run straight, slides checked through full extension under load, soft-close speeds set, and every door and drawer opened and shut before we pack up.
What's Not Included
- Cabinet refacing or refinishing — new door skins, veneer, paint, or stain is a finishing trade's project; we work on the hardware, not the surfaces.
- Countertop work — cutting, repairing, or reattaching counters is a separate scope no matter how close it sits to the cabinets.
- New cabinet installation — hanging boxes, scribing fillers, and leveling a new run is its own job we quote separately.
- Structural cabinet repair — a box pulling off the wall needs carpentry first; hardware bolted to a failing box fails with it.
- Custom door or drawer-front fabrication — we fit hardware to fronts you have; making new ones is millwork.

Can you add handles to doors that never had any?
Yes — the most template-dependent version of the job, since a blank door offers no second chance. We confirm placement on a sample door you approve, then drill every front through the jig with a backing block so the bit exits without tearing the finish behind.
Will soft-close hinges work on my existing cabinets?
Usually. Cabinets with standard 35 mm hinge cups take soft-close hinges directly, and many existing hinges accept clip-on dampers instead of full replacement. Genuinely old surface-mounted hinges sometimes need cup holes bored, priced as its own line.
Can worn drawer slides be upgraded to soft-close?
Often, but it depends on clearances. Side-mount soft-close slides use the same half-inch side gap as the old ones, so those swaps are straightforward. Undermounts demand specific box width, depth, and a bottom recess — we measure a drawer before promising the upgrade.
