Common Problems We Solve
A grab bar that wiggles when you lean on it.
Wiggle means the fasteners are in drywall or grout, not structure. We pull the bar and remount it into framing or rated anchors sized for a falling body's weight — sometimes an inch over, where the stud actually is.
You need bars in a tiled shower and nobody wants to touch the tile.

Stud finder and test probes tell us where framing runs, which decides, per bar, whether we screw into wood or use rated hollow-wall anchors.
Set heights and mark
We can place bars at commonly recommended heights, then adjust for the user's actual reach and grip. Everything is marked in tape and confirmed before a bit touches tile.
Drill, mount, and load-test
Tile gets diamond bits and patience; drywall and plaster get pilots. Each bar is mounted, sealed at wet-area penetrations, and pull-tested with real body weight — ours.
What's Not Included
- Medical or fall-risk assessments — an occupational therapist or physician decides what a person needs; we install what they recommend.
- Opening finished walls for structural blocking — where studs miss the spot, we lay out the honest options: rated anchors, a longer bar reaching framing, or a separately quoted blocking-and-repair scope.
- Plumbing-connected equipment — walk-in tubs, handheld shower valves, and bidet seats with new supply lines belong with a plumber.
- Certifying code compliance — we install to solid practice, but we do not certify a bathroom against ADA or any code standard.
- Full bathroom remodels — reworking a tub into a curbless shower is a remodel, not a hardware visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can grab bars go into a tiled shower wall without cracking the tile?
Yes — this is most of what we do in bathrooms. Diamond core bits run slow and wet, light pressure through the glaze, then normal drilling into the substrate behind. Cracks come from hammer mode and impatience, not from drilling itself.
What if there is no stud where the bar needs to go?
Three honest options, in the order we prefer them: a bar length or angle that reaches framing on at least one end; hollow-wall anchors rated for grab-bar loads; or opening the wall to add blocking, quoted as its own small repair job.
How much weight will an installed grab bar hold?
Into studs with structural screws, far more than any fall will apply — stud-mounted bars comfortably exceed the commonly cited 250-pound benchmark. Rated anchors carry manufacturer ratings we match to the job, and every bar gets a body-weight pull test before we leave.
Are suction-cup grab bars safe to rely on?
No. Suction bars are balance aids at best and let go without warning. Anything meant to catch a falling person needs fasteners into structure or rated anchors — if one is your main support today, replacing it comes first.
