This service compresses that first week into one coordinated visit. We sequence the jobs so the place is liveable when we leave — network running, beds standing. Common Problems We Solve
Wi-Fi is fast at the modem and useless in the back bedroom.
The router usually sits wherever the installer left it. We move it somewhere central or add mesh points, then walk the house checking signal room by room. Older Portland houses with plaster-and-lath walls eat wireless signal; those typically need a second access point, not a bigger router.

How It Works
Send the list before the move
Photos of the new place help, and so does the furniture order confirmation — model numbers tell us assembly time. The earlier we see the list, the better we can slot the visit against your moving date.
Get a plan, not just a quote
We put the list in working order and tell you what has to exist first — internet activated, furniture delivered, boxes in the right rooms — so the visit isn't spent waiting on a courier.
The setup visit
One trip, worked in first-night order: locks, beds, and network, then TV and mounting, then assembly and hanging. Glue and anchors set while other jobs run.
Walk-through and the leftovers
You check the list off with us. Anything that turned out to need a licensed trade or a second trip gets named plainly, not buried.
What's Not Included
- Moving and hauling — we assemble and place furniture, but transporting it between homes is a moving crew's job.
- New outlets or in-wall power behind a mounted TV — that's line-voltage electrical work, referred to a licensed electrician.
- ISP line problems — if the line to the house is dead, the provider has to fix it before anyone can make Wi-Fi reach the back rooms.
- Gas and water appliance hookups — washer, dryer, and range connections to supply lines go to licensed trades.
What Affects the Price
- Length of the setup list
- The visit is priced on total working time, and a fuller list spreads the trip and setup across more items.
- Flat-pack volume
- A bed frame and two nightstands is an hour or two; a wardrobe system with drawers is an afternoon on its own.
- Wall construction
- Plaster, brick, and concrete all mount slower than drywall — different drilling, different anchors, more care.
- Network scope
- One well-placed router is quick; a mesh system with points on two floors takes placement, configuration, and testing time.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book the visit — before or after moving day?
Just after. The furniture and boxes need to be in the house, and if Wi-Fi is on the list, the internet service needs to be activated. A day or two after the truck leaves is the sweet spot.
Can you set up the Wi-Fi if the internet isn't connected yet?
We can place and pre-configure the hardware, but without an active line there's nothing to verify, and verifying coverage in every room is most of the value. If your activation date is set, we schedule the visit after it.
Should we change the locks when we move in?
Yes, before the first night if you can — you have no idea how many copies of the old key exist. We can swap a standard deadbolt for a smart lock or set fresh codes on one that's already installed.
What does the childproofing part actually cover?
It's a hardware pass, not a certification: anchoring straps on tall furniture and the TV, latches on the cabinets you choose, gates fitted and mounted solidly at stairs. We work from where your child actually is — a crawler and a climber need different things.
Can one visit really cover all of it?
Usually, yes — that's the design. A very large list, or one waiting on back-ordered furniture, splits into two visits, and we'll tell you at quoting which items land in each.
